An April 6, 2017 Order of the New Mexico Supreme Court has created a sixteen-member New Mexico Adult Guardianship Commission, “an ad hoc commission to study the operation and structure of the adult guardianship system in New Mexico.”
Somewhat skeptical that this court-ordered commission will be able to fully and accurately assess the high-value court-run system of guardianship attorneys and healthcare practitioners, several individuals having substantial experience with the participating New Mexico judges, lawyers, and medical professionals have formed a private investigation committee to follow and critique the public Guardianship Commission.
